German Birdwatch

At the German Raptor Research Centre you will see eagles, vultures and owls in free flight high above the beautiful Neckar valley. The German Raptor Centre is wellknown for spectacular flights of eagles and vultures. The variety of free-flying Raptors is almost unique in Germany. Large birds with two-meter a wingspan of about two metres, like monk- and griffon vultures, bearded and white-backed vultures can be seen from close. Also their powerful counterparts, such as all kinds of eagles can be admired in the same presentation in free flight - on the Neckar River, high above the battlements of the Burg Guttenberg and directly above the heads of the audience. You should also visit the kennels of the castle, with around 120 birds, exhibitions and sculptures: a semi-natural insight into the fascinating world of raptors!
